I am an assistant professor in the  Department of Political Science at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York.

My research explores the links between domestic politics and international relations.  I am particularly interested in the links between party competition, retrospective voting, and the conflict behavior of democratic states.  I am also interested in bargaining models of war, and empirical evaluation of formal models.
